We have many things our students are able to be involved in.
The St Vincent De Paul group was formed in 2017. The students in the group help out in the community and raise money for charity. There are 3 smaller groups within the whole group. The food group help the hungry and raise money for organisations like the Soup Kitchen, the elderly group visit and spend time with those in rest homes who are lonely or have no family and the children group help young children. The Vinnies group is run by a committee of 8 students, 2 from each group, and 2 students who organize events and meetings.
The liturgy leaders are a group of students who organize liturgies and masses within the school. They organize the music, powerpoints, readings, and paint the altar cloths.
The liturgy choir is a group of students from the middles and seniors who sing in masses and liturgies. They practice songs on Mondays in Conolly Hall.
The altar servers are a group of students who altar serve with Father James in the Church. They undergo training to be able to altar serve at the Cathedral for lunchtime masses.
Kapa Haka and Pasifika Groups-
The whole school, from year 1 to year 8, goes Kapa Haka on Thursday. There is also a group of students who chose to be in the performance group. The performance group spend an extra 30 minutes practising for performances.
The Challenge 2000 group get together after Kapa Haka on Thursdays to discuss ways to help the community and those who are not as fortunate. Representatives from the Challenge 2000 organisation come in to the school and spend time with the group of students to come up with ways to raise money while also playing games and having fun.
We have a Coding Club for both our Junior Syndicate and Senior Syndicate students.
The Middle and Syndicate Students have an Engineering group. They focus on completing projects around our school that add to the environment.
